Train AI to Write Like You? Good Luck with That.
Horses for courses — why ChatGPT is brilliant at writing code but still can’t touch my copy
Train it right and apparently you can get ChatGPT, or Claude or Gemini to write just like you.
Well … the truth is that depends on what sort of writer you are.
How do I know? I challenged ChatGPT to a writing contest. I picked a subject and asked it to write some copy for me.
Then I wrote on the same subject and the end result was chalk and cheese.
The chatbot knows how I write - there are decades of my writing for newspapers and magazines on the internet - besides we “talk” regularly.
So why can’t it write like me despite being trained? Because like most professional writers I break style/form all the time - weaving stories, knowledge and facts that it can’t anticipate.
So my marketing copy doesn’t fit the mold, isn’t formulaic, it hasn’t been taught.
But what ChatGPT has just allowed me to do is to break form in an entirely different way - by venturing into the world of tech making my own app.
A brave new world of no-code apps is heralding a world of unseen business possibilities and opportunity.
I first heard about them while out for a walk listening to Stephen Bartlett’s podcast and I thought why not.
The first thing I thought about was a problem I have been encountering on a strength training and weight loss journey over the last six months (for my Yorkshire Three Peaks documentary short).
Eating protein to build strength and prevent muscle loss has become a focus and I found unless you swig whey or pea powders every day it’s a bit of a challenge.
And cooking for one on an endless diet of grilled salmon fillet or omelettes or tofu starts to become a chore pretty quickly.
So I have been asking ChatGPT for recipe ideas and it has worked so brilliantly I decided to make an app.
Stephen Bartlett said he’d made a no code app in two evenings and so I decided to give it a go too.
In 24-hours I made Protein Pal with the help of ChatGPT and couldn’t believe how easy it was. It’s not perfect, a bit glitchy but it’s just gone out to beta and first round of updates are already underway.
That’s the way, apparently that you “prove the concept”.
I also had requests to know how I did it. So I am running a live online tutorial on Tuesday June 24 at 1pm at a one off price of £29.
Who is it for: business owners who want a product to sell, who want an easy tool and make their customers lives easier.

You don’t need a tech brain, you don’t need to be a developer, you don’t even need to be able to write code but you do need to be able to build in a logical way and ask questions. It’s a bit like solving a puzzle or doing a jigsaw.
This is one of those opportunities that come along once in a blue moon in the computer age.
