See those people looking like small specks on the horizon?
Could this be you fading into invisibility because your business is not being seen?
There seems to be a certain sort of post doing the rounds on Facebook asking people about social media preferences.
Rather than asking people to make a choice, these questions are framed as “Do you hate video?” or “Do you hate long Facebook posts?”
Now, they could well be clickbait, but they garner massive and often angry responses.
People saying they hate video or they won’t read long posts or even Instagram captions, often citing boredom.
Now, I don’t much like podcasts - I have a hearing problem - but if there’s something I really want to listen to, I’ll check it out.
So is it the medium that’s boring or the fact that the message/the story isn’t up to scratch?
I suspect it’s more the latter - there’s a lot of waffle written on social media, in emails, in business books, and there’s also a lot of time wasted on video and even more so on podcasts.
Why use three words when you could use 30?
But whatever medium you favour - ignoring the others could put your audience further out of reach.
Just because I don’t like a certain sort of content doesn’t mean my audience feels the same way.
A great picture always makes me stop the scroll - how about you?
Do you prefer video?
Are you a reader?
Are you podcast fan?
